Garrett Gonzales is a 2016 SS/RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Madison HS. Solid athletic build with some present strength 7.21 runner who showed some athleticism in the infield in drills with clean actions and some third base potential, had good carry on his throws with projectable arm strength. Left handed hitter, home run derby approach, looks to lean and lift the ball, hits with top spin and looks to pull the ball. Also pitched and graded out well as a pitcher. Compact high leg lift delivery, hides the ball pretty well, over the top arm slot with some lean off on release. Fastball topped out at 82 mph early, mostly straight but gets on hitters quickly due to deception in release. Showed a nice change up in the mid-70's with some nice fading and diving action. Rare slurve type curveball.
