2016 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Jack Scanlon is a 2019 C/RHP/1B with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Sloatsburg, NY who attends Suffern Senior HS. Large, physical frame with present strength and size in his build. Recorded an 8.52 60-yard dash time. The primary catcher has a compact arm action with good arm strength. Recorded a pop time of 2.07 and had accurate throws to the bag while also showing athletic in-game actions. He throws from the mound at a three-quarter arm slot with a loose arm action and delivery. Good arm speed with low effort and a crossfire element to his landing. Fastball sat from 80-83 mph with occasional, late life. Mixed in a softer curveball with 11/5 shape in the low to mid-60s. Balanced stance at the plate with lift in his swing. Swings with intent to drive the ball and has present power especially to the pull side. Good feel for making contact out in front with the barrel and shifts weight well into the point of contact. Made the 2016 Main Event Top Prospect List. Good student.
