Chris McElvain is a 2019 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Thompsons Station, TN who attends Summit HS. Big athletic build with some present strength and more to come. Right handed hitter, leg lift trigger, rotational upper body swing, has some hand speed and quickness and shows some bat speed in his zone. 7.27 runner, has mature footwork in the infield and works through the ball well, makes accurate throws from multiple arm slots, smooth actions overall. Also pitched, multi-part delivery, hides the ball with good deception. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, has been up to 91 mph previously at PG events, has good sinking action. Works between a curveball and slider, creates some good spin on both pitches. Good student, verbal commitment to Vanderbilt.
