David Richards is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Gig Harbor, WA who attends Bellarmine Prep. Long and lean young build. Compact arm action coming through to a high 3/4's release point, gathers well above the rubber and works downhill well. Topped out at 81 mph on his fastball, gets nice running action on a two-seamer. Curveball showed promise when he stays on top of it, pretty tight spin with good 12/6 downer depth. Rare change up but showed proper arm speed on the pitch and it should develop well. Projectable young pitcher who has the pitches and should continue to improve with additional strength. Right handed hitter, open stance with a short swing with the beginnings of some bat speed, flashed hard contact. 7.26 runner. Very good student.
