Briley Knight is a 2018 C/3B, RHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Coronado, CA who attends Coronado. Young, athletic frame with medium build and good projection for continued growth moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.25 seconds. Hits from quiet, balanced stance and stays balanced and simplistic through hitting mechanics. Shows quick hands to and through the zone, turns the barrel well into line drive swing plane, uses lower half well and makes consistent line drive contact with good barrel control and developing strength at contact. Worked out defensively in OF and behind the plate. Waits back on the ball a bit in the OF, fields cleanly and does work through well, developing coordination in footwork, shows solid arm strength up to 80 MPH. Clean footwork behind the plate, receives deep and transfers clean, explodes out of crouch, popped as low as 2.13 seconds with good accuracy. Pitched as well, showed long and extended arm action to three quarters slot, some plane to plate with FB velocity working 77-79 MPH. Showed 12/6 CB with solid death and flashed CH that comes out of hand clean with some fade. Very good student.
