Ryan Gleason is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Laytonsville, MD who attends Georgetown Preparatory. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a high waist with long limbs, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary lefthanded pitcher, utilizes a hip turn at top of delivery while getting tall on backside; short stride coming down the mound with a full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Shows balance to delivery and gets extended at release; clean arm stroke and creates angle to fastball, topped out at 84 mph with some sink down in the zone. Lived down well and can continue to unlock additional velocity with drive off backside. Maintains slot well on curveball up to 75 mph and landed for strikes to keep hitters off balance. Nice present feel on the mound and still projects. Fields the ball out front at first base, stays tall through release, shows comfort dropping slot on throws across. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box with a wide base; shifts well into contact. Simple swing, gets to front side early but shows a handle for the barrel with lift out front, carry and back spin off the barrel when squared. Good student. Named to the Top Prospect List.
