Reed Spenrath is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from El Campo, TX who attends El Campo HS. Tall and slender high waisted build, lots of time and room to get stronger. High leg raise and back turn delivery, deep arm action with a high 3/4's to over the top arm slot, repeats delivery well for his age and size. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 79 mph, mostly straight but with good downhill angle when he gets out in front, will miss up at times. Not consistent with curveball release but will flash 12/6 depth with proper release point. Knuckleball was actually pretty solid, did not tip the pitch and got some wiggle to it. Show me slider and change up still need developing but willing to try them. Left handed hitter, has solid swing mechanics and handles the barrel well, line drive middle of the field contact, has hitting tools to develop and should continue to do so. Good student.
