Connor Shamblin is a 2018 RHP/IF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Lakeland, TN who attends Briarcrest Christian HS. Strong slope shouldered build, strong lower half, pretty mature physically. Drop and drive mechanics, uses his strong lower half well, well paced delivery. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 93 mph, power pitchers approach, works fastball down in the zone and challenges hitters, fastball mostly straight with some heaviness. Fair curveball spin with occasional 11/5 depth, developing change up. Primary fastball pitcher at present, key to future development will be improvement in secondary pitches. Right handed hitter, long and extended swing with good strength at contact, power approach with plenty of lift. 6.89 runner. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Alabama.
