Collin Rogiers is a 2018 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Buffalo, IA who attends Alleman. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Simple leg lift and stayed balanced at gather. Worked to the plate with tall and fall lower half actions. Deep arm stab at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball produced occasional downhill tilt through the zone with arm side run, topped at 84 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with loose spin and solid downer depth. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with breaking ball offering. Maintained arm speed with changeup producing slight wiggle to arm side in the upper 60's. Good feel for each side of the plate and consistently worked in and out of the zone to both left and right handers. Consistently changed speeds and induced weak contact throughout each inning of work. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth paced, deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels out front with clean glove actions and works through exchange with smooth paced actions. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced some on line carry to the bag topping at 82 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and high hand set. Created some linear shift into contact and tends to hit off a taller front side. Inside hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Primarily looked to work to the middle of the field but flashed the hand quickness to turn the barrel and works to pull side as well. Good student.
