Brigham Mooney is a 2016 SS/RHP with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Lee's Summit, MO who attends Blue Springs South. Medium frame, lean athletic build with ability and room for additional strength. Ran a 7.04 60-yard dash. Athletic movements in the field, light on his feet, looks very comfortable at shortstop. Solid fundamentals and footwork, uses lower half well and shows quality arm strength and accuracy across the diamond. Right handed hitter, wide base with slight crouch at setup. Toe-tap timing trigger, shows solid bat speed to go with swing plane geared for line drives. Middle of the field approach, stays quiet and balanced throughout swing, sees the fastball very well, can occasionally work around the barrel. Also pitches, ran fastball up to 80 mph. Showed feel for a curveball in the upper-60's and mixed in a low-70's changeup. Solid tools to work with on both sides of the ball. Very good student. Named to Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect Team.
