Xavier Valentin is a 2018 C/IF with a 5-10 183 lb. frame from Manati, PR who attends Leadership Christian Academy. Compact live bodied build, has good present strength. 7.00 runner, second base tools and actions, has quick hands and a quick release, footwork is light and clean, grades out much higher as an infielder than a catcher. Left handed hitter, has very quick hands and nice bat speed, hands are loose and fluid, has some lift in his swing, line drive approach and will hit to all fields but has some pop, too, best when he's hitting under control. Hands are the key to his game. Good student.
