Jake Liberatore is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Blue Point, NY who attends Bayport-Blue Point HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength, prototypical middle infielder's look. Right handed hitter, wide base to hit from, short and quick swing, has some bat speed and attacks the ball, stays balanced and directional well, tends to get hands moving late, solid line drive contact to all fields, high average approach. 5.15 runner in the forty, moves side to side well defensively, gets behind the ball, can be fore aggressive charging the ball, makes accurate throws from a short arm action, can improve quickness in release as the game speeds up. Also pitched, has potential on the mound. Works from the stretch, full arm action, limited lower half use, gets on top of the ball well at release. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action, aggressive with his fastball, showed a tight late breaking upper 60's curveball. Good student.
