Tripp Jones is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-0 210 lb. frame from Phenix City, AL who attends Smiths Station HS. Has medium frame with large build. Primary first basemen with developing actions and footwork. At the plate, right handed hitter that starts with a standard stance. Begins swing with a toe tap and gather. Has raw strength at the plate with solid pull side contact and developing bat speed. Ball hit with authority when barreled. Also pitched, throws on a downward plane from a 3/4 arm slot. Had a smooth delivery and a limited lower half. Has more in the tank once lower body is incorporated. 9/5 spin on curveball with good depth and big break. Throws strikes and mixes pitches well. Good student.
