Salvatore Ferro is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Middle Village, NY who attends St Francis Preparatory. Medium frame with strong, athletic present build; good projection remaining. Pitches exclusively from the stretch, starts very closed off, long arm action with high take back, accelerates to high three quarters arm slot and creates angle to the plate. Gets downhill well, spine tilt present, repeats delivery well, Fastball worked 80-83 MPH with solid arm side life on the pitch. Threw roughly 90% fastballs, did a good job eliciting weak contact due to life and command. Mixed in the occasional slider, solid cutter-like action with good break in on right-handed hitters hands. Pounded the zone consistently with both pitches. Good student.
