Walter Ford is a 2023 3B/RHP with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from McCalla, AL who attends McAdory. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and projectable frame, some present strength, plenty of room to grow and develop. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields it out front and shows range with the footwork, takes shorter steps moving to the backhand, works on top of throws well, ball takes off out of hand across the diamond, plays under control. Loud 1 inning look on the mound, simply over powered hitters; athletic delivery with a fast arm, sat 95-96 mph with the fastball and bumped 97 mph on the final pitch with elite spin metrics. Ball jumps out of hand with life to the bottom of the zone; maintained arm speed on slider up to 81 mph with hard, late biting life and flashed a changeup at 79 mph. High upside on the mound. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a hover leg lift for timing in the box. Quickness to hands and look to lift at point of contact, shows strength at impact and drove a home run over the left field wall in live acton. Easy swing and ball jumps, swung it well throughout the event. High two-way level talent. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Alabama.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
