Rory Lynch is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Easton, CT who attends The Loomis Chaffee. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.02 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, up-tempo delivery with a high leg lift up past belt, gets tall on backside, quick arm through the back and works to an extended three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, ball comes out well with short running life, attacks with the pitch and found success. Tends to drop slot on changeup but when staying through the pitch generates hard diving life up to 80 mph; mixed comfortably, slider shows short bite to it with tight rotation in mid-70s while also flashing a curveball up to 70 mph. Long and quick strides to the ball in the outfield, can refine lower half mechanics, quick arm action with present strength and carry on throws, works around the intended base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Loads hands back at start, keeps hands inside the ball, longer swing path through the zone but shows bat speed with occasional lift to path and flashes carry off of the barrel to pull side when squared. Good student. Named to Fall Connecticut Top Prospect List.
