John Michael Moore is a 2017 LHP with a 5-6 150 lb. frame from Rockwall, TX who attends Rockwall-Heath HS. Compact frame with athletic, sturdy build and some present strength, particularly in lower-half. Works exclusively from the stretch, short and compact delivery with leg lift and slight pause at balance point. Good line and direction to plate, uses lower-half well, works to an extended high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball up to 75 mph, has some downhill plane but needs to be located down in zone. Uses secondary offerings quite often, shows comfort in them and will use them in any count, pitch backwards. Slider and curveball have similar sweeping action, slider is a little sharper and harder, while curveball serves to change eye levels and possesses more depth. Changeup has mild fading action and misses barrels, throws all offspeed with good armspeed and keeps hitters off balance. Throws strikes and knows how to pitch, fits profile of crafty lefty. Very good student.
