Wynston Dyer is a 2018 1B/RHP,/OF with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Columbia, SC who attends Spring Valley HS. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Primary first baseman with smooth, clean footwork while moving to and centering the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange with fluidity. Gets the baseball out quickly creating accurate carry across the infield at 81 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Creates slightly coil with top half at load and works to contact with linear lower half actions. Showed present bat speed and strength at contact while utilizing a slightly lifted swing plane. Ball jumped off the barrel well when squared producing loud carry to each gap. Also pitched utilizing a simple leg lift delivery. Worked in line to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Elevated hand break at separation and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed some downhill plane through the zone with occasional run in the mid 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curvball had 11/5 shape with loose spin and occasional depth in the upper 60's. Excellent student. Named to the 2017 Southeast Uncommitted Showcase, Top Prospect List.
