Luke Patzner is a 2018 RHP with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Urbandale, IA who attends Urbandale HS. Big and strong broad shouldered build. Deep arm action in back, uses his strong lower half well in his delivery, pretty low effort mechanics. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, gets good run and sink down in the zone. Change up was his best secondary pitch, good arm speed with some late life and a good feel for the zone with it. Breaking ball varied between slider and curveball shape, ideally a slider for a sinker/slider approach to pitching. Good student, verbal commitment to Iowa.
