Joseph Wolf is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Argyle, TX who attends Liberty Christian. Large frame with broad shoulders, long limbs and a strong build. Primary left handed pitcher with a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather with slight coil over back leg. Loose arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated some downhill angle through the zone with run to arm side in the upper 70's, topped at 80 miles per hour. Curveball had 2/7 shape with tight spin and late depth in the mid 60's. Maintained arm speed with a changeup offering that had late sink to arm side in the low 70's. Good command for all three pitches and consistently worked each pitches to the edges of the plate. Effectively stayed off barrels and induced weak contact through each inning of work. Left handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Coils hands at load and works to contact with linear lower half actions. Loose hand path to contact with an uphill plane through extension. Looks to connect with baseball out front and lift the ball between the gaps. Maintained balance throughout and showed good feel for the barrel in multiple parts of the zone. Good student. Named to the 2017 South Underclass Showcase, Top Prospect Showcase.
