Matty Brown is a 2018 SS/2B with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Perry High School. Younger player with a lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.18 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, fielded close to body, showed ability to throw from multiple slots, and moved well while charging. Showed quick transfer and release skills with sound hands. At the plate, who graded out best from the left side. Started with a wide base, deeper hand set, and used a toe tap into a stride timing mechanism. Showed best raw bat speed from the left side with a line drive swing plane. Flashed extension from the left side. From right side used a middle of the field approach and incorporated less lower half. Will continue to improve with fluidity from both sides of the plate as well as additional strength. Exceptional student.
