2016 West Coast Underclass Showcase
Corey Sanchez is a 2019 OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Murrieta, CA who attends Murrieta Valley HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.29 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows athletic actions while closing and working through the baseball. Clean glove action while funneling with smooth glove to hand exchanges. Long, loose arm action at release topping at 83 mph. Baseball comes out of hand cleanly producing accurate, on line carry to the bag. Left handed hitter with a spread, balanced stance and high back elbow set. Lower half launches to contact with rotational actions creating some shift. Smooth, mechanical path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Drops the barrel head to pitches down in the zone well generating hard line drive contact when squared. Controls the barrel well throughout the zone and consistently produced line drive contact to the middle and opposite side of the field. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
