Matthew Diaz is a 2020 SS/2B, 3B, MIF, IF, OF, UT with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Rancho Cucamonga, CA who attends Los Osos. Medium athletic build, primary middle infielder. Posted a 7.06 second sixty yard dash time. Shows some arm strength with solid carry on his throws across the diamond from short. Reads the ball off the bat well and transfers the ball quickly. A solid understanding of his footwork and works well into either hole. At the plate, a handsy hitter that works the barrel directly to the baseball. Very simple swing, hands stay quiet. Lower half is still developing along with creating leverage from his linear weight shift.
