Ryan Blackwell is a 2020 C/1B, OF with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Amarillo, TX who attends Amarillo HS. Recorded a 7.28 second 60-yard dash time. Athletic frame with good strength and physicality well-proportioned throughout. Primary catcher with soft hands and receives well. Limited ground gained with good arm strength. Gets on top of the ball nicely with a quick transfer and good carry on throws. Arm strength also plays from the outfield where it was recorded up to 88 mph into the infield. Righthanded hitter with a slightly open stance and uncoils nicely onto the ball. Easy load and swings with intent to create backspin and carry. Can work on a line consistently and power will continue to develop with good present strength through the point of impact. Good student.
