Jace Jones is a 2021 RHP/SS with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Fort Myers, FL who attends Cypress Lake. Tall well proportioned build with good present strength and room for plenty more. Compact arm action with a pause over the rubber, rotational delivery going down the mound, good arm speed from a tight 3/4's arm slot, can use his lower half more to help generate power to the plate, especially from the stretch. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, gets good arm side running action. Slider has good power and tilt. Tends to lower his arm slot on his change up and tip the pitch but turns it over effectively. Has a feel for mixing his speeds and location. Showed his arm strength very well from the infield. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a leg lift trigger, long and extended swing with good bat speed. Has a chance to be a two-way player at the college level. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Florida Gulf Coast.
