Josh McCaskill is a 2021 1B/C, 3B with a 6-2 225 lb. frame from Cairo, GA who attends Cairo. Large physical build with present strength. Primary first baseman, glove works well to both sides and he stays in front of the ball well. Fields out in front and is meticulous with his fielding actions. Shows accuracy on his throws to all bags. From behind the plate, has a conventional crouch with projectable size for a backstop. Shows some quickness out of the crouch and replaces feet well on his throws down to second base. Posted a 2.20 second pop time. At the plate, uses an upright and even stance with a small stride trigger. Plus pop to all fields with present violence in his swing. Slightly lifted barrel plane with consistent launch angle to his pull side. Middle to pull side approach. Good student in the classroom as well.
