LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2019 Northeast Indoor Showcase
Ben Wieman is a 2021 3B/RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Ellicott City, MD who attends Archbishop Spalding. Large frame with broad shoulders. Ran a 5.26 second 40 yard dash. Primary third baseman, worked out in the infield with playable hands and footwork, actions should play well at third base, showed accurate throws across the diamond with average arm strength, topped out at 81 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, starts his delivery with a short rocker step up to a belt high leg lift, takes his arm back to a compact arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, low effort release taking a short stride down the mound, fastball topped out at 81 flashing armside run at times, mixed in an upper-60s curveball with feel. Righthanded hitter, low effort stroke with impressive raw bat speed, some upper half dominant actions to stroke but leverages well and creates loft, present juice and barrel whip that produces plenty of power. Named to 2019 Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
