2017 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Martin Vincelli-Simard is a 2018 C/1B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Boisbriand, QC who attends Saint-Gabriel. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Ran a 7.29 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a low, slightly side set stance while setting up to receive. Gains ground with fundamental lower half actions. Works through transition with clean exchanges and quick glove circle. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot producing good carry with developing accuracy, topped at 77 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, open stance and high back elbow set. Loose, extended path to contact with an uphill plane through extension. Swung with intent, present bat speed and strength at contact. Showed a gap to gap approach with the present jump off the barrel to split the gaps. Very good student as well.
