Jonathan Watkins is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Hiram, GA who attends South Paulding HS. XL frame with very good present physicality and build on body. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.56 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher, long arm stroke through the back to mid three quarters slot, gets online well in delivery and gets over front side. Fastball worked 67-72 MPH, showed good sinking and running life to the arm side on the pitch. Showed quality changeup with good fading action; maintained arm speed well. Did a good job throwing strikes. Sets up to hit from upright, even-based stance with big leg lift trigger and high hands. Stays committed to the middle of the field on an elevating swing plane, extends well through contact, did a good job finding the barrel consistently. Good student.
