Cade Udell is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-5 225 lb. frame from Longwood, FL who attends Lake Mary. Big and strong build with square shoulders and wide hips and the potential to get much stronger. High leg lift delivery with a big hip turn at the top, stays on line, short and quick arm action that hides the ball well, 3/4's arm slot with good extension out front, will sometimes get over extended and off line at release. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 91 mph early, gets some sink when down in the zone over the plate, works more glove side than arm side with is fastball. Will drop his slot a bit on his change up but has confidence in the pitch and throws it with conviction. Slurve type breaking ball with some sweeping depth at times. Key to development will be developing consistency with his arm stroke and release point. Right handed hitter, gliding leg lift trigger, gets to his front side early, uphill long and strong swing. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Duke.
