Mason Abromitis is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, MIF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Macungie, PA who attends Allentown Central Catholic. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Primary shortstop, shows balance and footwork moving towards the ball, gets low behind it and maintains balance, lower effort release on throws, will continue to refine overall footwork and actions to backhand, shows present actions that project with added strength. Also pitched, side step moving into delivery with an extended leg lift; fluidity to delivery, lands closed with strike foot, long arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball showed cutting action, will drop slot at times with intent, developing feel for curveball and flashed a straight changeup. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance with a high hand set and lower back elbow; hanging leg lift trigger for timing at the plate and gets it down well. Hits the ball out front with extension, shows looseness to hands and comfort working to his pull side. Creates separation and shows a feel for the barrel, can work to the middle of the field and handles the barrel. Very good student.
