Joe Vetrano is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Shrub Oak, NY who attends Lakeland. Big and present strong build . Two-way prospect who may have a higher ceiling as a position player. Coiled delivery on the mound with a very high leg lift, hides the ball well, over the top arm action, lots of energy at release. Upper 80's fastball, gets plenty of angle and some additional sink at times. Slow downer curveball and change up are still developing in their arm speed and release point. 6.84 runner, is very athletic around the bag and likely very capable of playing left field as well. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread and open stance with a deep hand load, has big raw strength in his swing and swings with intent, ball comes of the barrel hard, big natural launch angle in his swing, power approach that is executed well. Good student, verbal commitment to Boston College.
