Jonathan Hogart is a 2020 OF/RHP, C with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Madisonville, KY who attends Madisonville North Hopkins. Medium frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran 7.15 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with with deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels out front with two hands and worked through exchange efficiently. Clean arm action at release and generated accurate carry to the bag at 82 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the behind the plate showing a low, balanced stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground out of crouch with quick lower half actions. Compact glove circle while working through exchange and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 78 miles per hour. Best workout pop time of 2.02. Right handed handed with an upright, slightly open stance and sweeping leg lift trigger. Created aggressive linear shift into contact with lower half. Direct hand path to baseball with a naturally leveraged barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and looked to drive the baseball with authority to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Created loud contact with good jump off the barrel when on time and squared. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step delivery. Coils over back leg at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Swings front side slightly but lands in line at finish. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly displaying some run back to arm side in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 82 miles per hour. Showed good feel for fastball offering with the ability to consistently located to the bottom quadrants of the zone. Curveball had 12/6 shape with tight spin and late, hard depth in the mid 70's. Utilized breaking ball as an out pitch and consistently kept hitter off balance inducing weak contact throughout each inning of work. Good student as well.
