Luke Osteen is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Huntersville, NC who attends William Amos Hough. Medium to large athletic build with room to fill into and strengthen as he continues to develop, posted a 6.97 second 60-yard dash time. Primary outfielder, shows aggressiveness to and through the baseball. Moves well into the gap as well as down the line. Glove works well, plus arm strength to all bags with solid accuracy. Was gunned at 88 mph to the plate in the outfield workouts. On the mound, has a longer arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Smooth and balanced motion, works with good direction down the hill. Fastball up to 87 mph, locates it to all four quadrants well. Mixes in an 81 mph changeup as well as an 11-to-5 shaped curveball with good late bite. Free and easy thrower. At the plate, uses an even and upright stance with a mid leg kick trigger. Balanced stroke throughout his linear weight shift, shows an ability to generate consistent backspin. Good bat speed, looks to use the middle of the field. Excellent student in the classroom as well.
