Malachi Lott is a 2021 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Portland, TX who attends Gregory-Portland. Medium, athletic frame with young build, longer limbs with present strength and additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary lefthanded pitcher, side step moving into a leg lift up past belt; shows nice tempo to delivery and gets tall on backside before breaking into a full and quick arm action, works to a high three-quarters release mostly. Dropped slot down to side arm with intent and showed athleticism to repeat and fill the zone. Crates angle from higher slot when working down to glove side, topped out at 85 mph and showed short running life, lived comfortably in the low-80s. Short depth on curveball with 1-7 shape, slows arm at release but showed comfort landing breaking ball for strikes from lower slot too. Short and quick steps moving towards the ball in the outfield, takes an extra step through release but works on top of the ball consistently with a loose arm stroke, shows nice strength and carry to the intended base. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open and upright stance with a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Employs a patient approach in the box, best contact when working with a linear path. Looks to work the middle of the field with a contact oriented approach, uses hands well in swing and can get additional lower half incorporated into swing.
