2020 South Top Prospect Games at Texas A&M
Magnus Miller is a 2021 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-0 220 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Veterans Memorial HS. The barrel chested, University of Houston commit, is a solid Division I prospect who has the make-up and mental acuity to be a professional prospect with continued work and dedication that should expand his arsenal and his game. He uses an old-school style pitching operation that includes a solid trunk rotation and a high leg/knee kick. His ability to pitch down the slope and repeat his mechanics allow for him to work both sides of the plate with confidence. His 83-88 mph fastball shows late life. Down in the zone, his fastball shows consistent arm side run and heavy sink. Up in the zone, where his velocity ticks up a bit, his fastball explodes and shows riding life late. His curveball is a 12-to-6 breaker that he can add and subtract velocity on and work to both edges. With continued dedication to strength and conditioning, Magnus has a ceiling that is fairly unlimited.
