Jorden Smith is a 2021 SS/RHP, C with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from So. Jordan, UT who attends Bingham. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary shortstop with extended strides while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Flashed soft hands while funneling the baseball and working through exchange. Loose, long arm action that created accurate carry across the infeild at 75 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a balanced, slightly side set stance while receiving the baseball. Quick feet while working through exchange with a loose glove circle. Throws created some on line carry to the bag topping at 72 miles per hour. Best workout pop time of 2.00. Right handed hitter with an narrow, open stance and leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Lets baseball traveling to a deeper position and utilized a compact, line drive barrel plane. Developing feel for the barrel and consistently worked the ball to the middle of the field and opposite field gap. Also pitched showing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball created solid downhill plane when working to the bottom of the zone in the mid 70's to low 80's, topped at 82 miles per hour. Generated good depth with an 11/5 curveball that flashed tight spin in the low 70's. Consistently located in the strike zone and looked to challenge hitters with both fastball and curveball offering. Excellent student as well.
