2007 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Justin Grimm is a 2007 RHP with a 6'3'', 180 lb. frame from Bristol VA, who attends Virginia HS. He has a very loose, projectable build without much present strength. Grimm was throwing off a mound for the first time in over three months after having a pin removed from his arm, so his performance in what amounted to a bullpen session was amazing. Grimm has an easy, effortless delivery and arm action and an extended 3/4's release that sometimes drops down closer to mid 3/4's. He stays tall and directional during his delivery. Grimm's fastball was steadily 90-92 mph with very good running and sinking life, most were 91 mph. He threw a hard change up at 83 mph that had hard sink like a 2-seam fastball he'd turned over. Grimm threw a couple of curveballs at 75 mph that he didn't turn loose, but they had good shape and spin. Grimm obviously has a special arm and the delivery, looseness and projection to go with it. If he stays healthy through the spring he could evolve into one of the top 2007 high school prospects in the country.
