LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2006 National Showcase
Joseph Terdoslavich is a 2007 switch-hitting catcher/third baseman from Sarasota HS, residing in Sarasota, FL. He has a strong and well proportioned build on his a 6'2" 180 lb. frame. Did not play as well at PG National as we have seen, particularly later in the summer. He has shown that he can swing the bat with some authority and has a full set of quality catching tools. From the right side he hits from a square stance with hands that start high. His barrel stays long through contact and the ball jumps off his bat well. His present day power is good and will only improve. Terdoslavich not only has good and strong hands, but his lower half triggers well, incorporating his whole body in the swing and providing more carry than if he swung with his hands/arms alone. From the left side he starts with a high back elbow, indicating that he is looking to lift the ball and probably handles the low ball quite well. His bat makes a long arc and gets through the zone well. With hips that work, he has above average power from the left side, possibly more in the future. Overall Terdoslavic has a free stroke and his barrel gets through contact well. With good bat control he is not only going to hit for power, but should hit for average too. Behind the plate he showed a strong, accurate arm with carry and solid average receiving skills. With his switch-hitting skills and strong arm, his tools profile well for the draft next June. He ran 4.59 home/1st and posted a 7.38 60.
