Jalen Martinez is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Clive, IA who attends Waukee. Very athletic build with some present strength and plenty of room for more. 6.97 runner in the sixty. Has advanced actions in the outfield, very smooth and confident through the ball with clean glove actions, loose arm with good carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a hanging leg lift load and a big shift into contact, has good hand quickness and develops bat speed, middle of the field line drive approach with some gap power, handled velocity well. Also pitched, left hander with simple mechanics and good direction to the plate, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with some nice running action at times, curveball has 1/7 shape and good depth to it. Signed with Iowa Central CC. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
