Breck Jones is a 2020 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Gulfport, MS who attends Gulfport HS. Young shorter build with a medium athletic build and the beginnings of some strength. Good mechanics on the mound, very consistent in repeating his mechanics. Consistent fastball in the 75-77 mph range, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Soft curveball has good sweeping action. Has very good command of both pitches for his age and a feel how to locate and when to challenge in the zone and when to get outs away from the strike zone. 7.34 runner, has a quick release in the outfield and some arm strength for his age, also plays first base. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance with an exaggerated inside swing path, opposite field hitter. Good student.
