Declan O'Hare is a 2019 SS/3B, 2B, OF, RHP with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends John Marshall. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary shortstop with clean, sound footwork while rounding the baseball. Flashed some range to each side. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange well with clean transfers. Released from a low three-quarters arm slot generating some carry with developing accuracy across the infield, topped at 75 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and sweeping front side trigger. Shifts into contact with linear lower half actions. Loose path to contact with a fluid line drive plane through extension. Stays through the baseball well and flashed good feel for the barrel. Primarily looked to work to the middle of the field but showed the barrel control to work to all fields as well. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to low leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Long arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed some run to arm side with occasional sink, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/4 shape with softer spin and some tilt to glove side. Primarily worked to the outer edge of the plate with both pitched and induced weak contact. Excellent student as well.
