Kellen Ward is a 2018 1B/OF with a 5-11 206 lb. frame from Montgomery, AL who attends Macon East Academy. Medium frame with an athletic build present strength. Primary first baseman with clean footwork while centering and flashed some range to each side. Funnels the baseball out front and working through exchange well. Compact arm action at release and created accurate carry across the infield. Left handed hitter with an upright, narrow stance and simple leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Simple, direct path to contact with a naturally leveraged barrel plane through extension. Displayed present bat speed and strength at contact. Consistently drove the ball between the gaps with authority created good carry off the barrel. Good student.
