Yoel Tejeda Jr is a 2022 1B/RHP with a 6-6 205 lb. frame from Davie, FL who attends North Broward Prep. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, some present strength to frame and additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 6.90 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, easy target to throw to across diamond, turns well with footwork away from the base, fields it out front, positions well behind the ball, solid arm strength and carry across the diamond; fields the ball out front with two hands in the infield, deliberate tempo to actions, will continue to develop and refine overall actions, shows carry across the diamond. Also pitched, directional delivery coming down the mound, works to an extended three-quarters release point with an easy release and solid angle to the plate. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, mostly true in life with plenty of extension out front; changeup is the better of two secondary pitches, lands it for strikes up to 82 mph, shape to curveball will continue to develop. Left-handed hitter, begins with a balanced and relaxed stance in the box. Fast hands and stays relatively compact with swing, uses length to generate leverage out front and create lift at the point of contact. Remains balanced throughout, occasionally mistimed, shows big juice to pull side and projects for even more moving forward. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Florida.
