Charlie Roder is a 2020 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Kansas City, MO who attends Rockhurst. Slope shouldered athletic build. Easy flowing athletic delivery, smooth low effort mechanics, works from a mid-3/4's extended arm slot that will drop lower at times, arm works well. Best pitch is his slider, true hard late biting slider he has advanced feel for and can spot, has depth and lateness and is consistently thrown to the correct spots, slider is the kind of pitch that will abuse left handed hitters at the next level. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, works low in the zone with consistent running life, throws lots of ground balls. Can be effective at the next level with his current stuff in a specialty role or be successful as a starter with more velocity. Good athlete, 7.33 runner who shows solid actions in the outfield. Left handed hitter who hits from an open stance with a lifting swing and some gap to gap pop. Outstanding student. Named to the Central Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
