Ryan Maloney is a 2020 C/3B, 1B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Orland Park, IL who attends Providence Catholic. Large build, athletic with some strength present in the upper half and more room to fill in the lower half. Ran a 7.75 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, higher stance receiving the ball out front, gains some ground into throws with clean and quick transfers, good footwork with a tight release, full arm action and accurate throws, 2.01 best pop. Righthanded hitter, even stance, high hand set with a high back elbow, slight bat waggle into load, short and inside hand path to the baseball, line drive barrel plane and approach mostly to the pull side, showed barrel control in round. Excellent student.
