Carson Small is a 2024 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 176 lb. frame from Warner Robins, GA who attends Houston County. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean frame with room to fill throughout moving forward. ran a 76.3 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, starts with a closed front side, loads onto back side well and utilizes a short arm action through the backside working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 79 mph and showed life to the arm side when working down in the zone. Able to miss bats with the changeup against right-handed hitters with late depth up to 71 mph; mixed a slider with nice shape, will continue to tighten in spin moving forward. Sound footwork and approaches the ball under control in the outfield, fields the ball out front and shows accuracy on throws with developing arm strength; methodical actions around first base bag, young actions, shorter arm action on throws and accurate to intended target. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set at the plate, shows fast hands, gets downward with swing path, gets the barrel through, can incorporate additional lower half into swing and extension out front. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
