Josh King is a 2023 C/RHP, 3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Southaven, MS who attends DeSoto Central. Large frame with a solid build showing strength throughout. Ran a 7.18 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, side saddle to start during drills. Reaching for throws as worked into transfers with urgency. Uphill release and showed off the arm strength as he recorded a pop time of 1.90 seconds. Feel showing behind the dish as it showed during game actions. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with a side-step to a belt high lift as the hands come up during the motion. Medium arm swing in the back before releasing from a three-quarter slot. Fastball up to 82 mph creating arm side run. Also mixed in a breaking ball showing vertical movements that he proved he could land for strikes. Secondary Third Baseman, proving to have some lateral range as he worked into the baseball under control. Scoops out front and works into a quick release. Accurate throws as he threw it 80 mph. Fundamentally sound showing instincts at the position. Right-Handed Hitter, slightly open with an even base and high hands. Knee to knee trigger as he loads up before striding out. Barrel awareness present as he fires the hands. Leverages the baseball with pop to the pull-side and projects as a power bat down the road. Good Student.
