Brian Wamsher is a 2023 RHP/C/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Springfield, MO who attends Kickapoo. Medium build with some present strength and room for more. Primary right handed pitcher and also a two-way prospect. Has a short closed stride down the mound with a catcher's compact high 3/4's arm slot, can extend better out front at release. Fastball topped out at 84 mph with some late tailing action that got into right handed hitter's kitchen a few times. Curveball has good tight spin and some bite, also dropped in a few lively change ups with good arm speed. Had feel for all three pitches and threw them for strikes. 7.20 runner in the sixty. Played both catcher and outfield on defense, showed quickness and athleticism at both positions, made accurate throws with some carry, very capable at both. Left handed hitter, hits from a narrow slightly open stance with a medium leg raise trigger, has a lifting uphill swing with good separation and extension, gets his back side into his swing well, showed feel for the barrel. Nice all around talent. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
