Ty Chudomelka is a 2020 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Bellevue, NE who attends Bellevue East. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary shortstop with clean footwork while rounding and surrounding the baseball. Reads hops well and gets below the baseball while funneling. Quick, clean exchange and maintains momentum towards the bag. Throws generated accurate carry to the bag at 83 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing quick, aggressive footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions at pick up and worked through transition efficiently. Gets the baseball out quickly and created good carry to the bag, also topping at 83 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an open stance and leg lift trigger. Works to baseball with rotational actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a linear barrel plane through extension. Primarily looked to work the ball on a line to the middle of the field, but flashed the ability to turn the barrel and work to pull side with authority. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Created some coil at gather and worked in line to the plate. Loose arm circle at separation and released from a full three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated some shorter run back to arm side in the upper 70's, topped at 80 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/4 shape with tighter spin and solid sweeping action to glove side. Also flashed a changeup offering that created sink to the bottom of the zone in the low 70's. matches arm speed well with each offering creating good deception to hitters.
